Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in its efforts to popularize and make Indic Knowledge Traditions (IKT) common knowledge among the people, have been offering a course titled Knowledge Traditions and Practices of India (KTPI) for classes XI – XII since the academic year 2012-13. KTPI practically serves as an introduction to IKT where it surveys a few major themes. The first year consists of ten modules on Astronomy, Ayurveda (Medicine and Surgery), Chemistry, Drama, Environment, Literature, Mathematics, Metallurgy, Music and Philosophy. Eleven modules on Agriculture, Architecture, Dance, Education, Ethics, Martial Arts, Language, Other Technologies, Painting, Society State and Polity, and Trade are part of the second year.
